Innovations in Taiwan’s Semiconductor Industry

Guest Lecture by Professor Jeng-Ywan Jeng
Visiting Professor University of Sydney

This upcoming public lecture will delve into Taiwan's pivotal role in the global semiconductor industry. It will cover the entire semiconductor supply chain, including IC design, manufacturing, and packaging technologies, and the supporting material and equipment ecosystems. A key focus will be on TSMC's technological advancements, such as EUV lithography, 3D packaging, and silicon photonics for AI chips, along with their novel immersion technology that significantly boosts numerical aperture. The lecture will also explore AI applications in IC design and manufacturing, and the potential of importing green hydrogen from Australia to support the industry. Additionally, it will introduce internship and scholarship programs, as well as educational initiatives like the Semiconductor Summer Camp.
