Research or coursework?
Postgraduate coursework involves studying a series of subjects to update your existing skills or knowledge in a particular area.
A coursework qualification requires completion of core units and electives.
You'll be required to attend lectures, classes, seminars, or laboratory sessions and complete assignments and exams. Many of our courses are offered with options such as day and evening classes, block classes, part-time course loads and intensive study modes to accommodate your work life.
Assessment tasks for many subjects are tailored to your place of work to help you apply your learning and gain confidence as you develop new skills.
Research degrees require you to undertake a research project that contributes to the field in which you study. For more information on research degrees at UTS, visit UTS research degrees.
UTS also offers a variety of standalone short courses.
