What did you do before you started your course?
Completed High School 2003
Had a year off school - traveled, joined the Army Reserve.
Commenced course 2005.
What motivated you to study this course?
Nursing has a large number of specialties, it offers the opportunity to travel and work in the future and provides a job with variety.
Why did you choose UTS?
UTS has a focus on clinical practice which I thought was necessary in a course like Nursing. It also provided accommodation solutions for me as a rural student.
What is it like to study at UTS?
Fun, challenging, interactive. The staff are supportive and the uni has great facilities. It is also a fantastic place to meet people with similar interests and also who you may work with one day.
What did you most enjoy about your course?
Clinical placement and the people.
Is there any advice you would give to students studying this degree?
Enjoy it, make the most of the time studying especially when on clinical placement, and if you don't like an area don't worry because you won't have to work there again.
What would you like to do once you complete your degree?
Travel overseas to work and work in the Army as a Nursing Officer
