As a project manager, my dream is to help people in need in any possible way.
I grew up in a large family and went a gifted high school before studying linguistics and teaching at university. When I graduated, I travelled across Europe and the United States and studied International Economics. I then discovered my dream job - becoming a project manager in the health sector.
As a project manager, my dream is to help people in need in any possible way. I have eight years’ experience working in the clinical research and health services management field and currently work for Appen – a global company leading in the development of high-quality, human-annotated training data for machine learning and artificial intelligence. What I enjoy most about managing projects is that it can be both a challenging and rewarding job.
I’m passionate about identifying challenges in the Australian healthcare system and improving the accessibility of healthcare services for patients. I’m studying Health Services Management to learn more about international healthcare project management and research and to also be mentored by internationally-renowned experts.
Studying Health Services Management is very rewarding. The course I’ve chosen cultivates leaders who are inspired to meet the diverse and dynamic challenges of healthcare services. I'm studying the Planning major in the Advanced Master's degree, and so far, the course has been extremely practice-oriented and based on real-life situations. This has improved my problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Both lectures and workshops are performed by industry experts coming from diverse backgrounds who openly share their knowledge and experience with us.
I wanted to study at UTS because I was looking for a top-ranked university that would prepare me to meet the current and future needs of healthcare systems. Studying at UTS suited me because the course integrated both independent online learning with group workshops held on campus.
My advice for international students who want to study in Australia is to know what you want to achieve in life, work hard and be patient. Sydney is a very beautiful place to live in. It's a city with both personal and professional opportunities available.
I’m also a City of Sydney International Student Leadership Ambassador[opens external site]. As an Ambassador, I work with the City to develop strategies to encourage engagement between local and international students, seek opportunities to promote important information on safety and well-being and assist international students to find work experience and support services.
