Statement of Enrolment / Verification Letter

A statement of enrolment, also known as a student verification letter, is an official University letter that states:

  • your name and student number,
  • your commencement date and expected year of course completion
  • the course and subjects that you are currently enrolled in, and
  • your current attendance pattern (i.e. full-time or part time)
  • your results release date
  • your expected course completion date

A statement of enrolment may be required by Centrelink for students applying to receive the Youth Allowance.

Jury Service Letter

If you've been summoned for jury duty during a teaching session, you may apply for the Jury Service Letter to confirm your enrolment status at the University. You can use this document if you want to apply to be excused from your jury service or to request a shorter trial due to your studies.

Your application can only be processed if:

  • You provide evidence of the official ‘Jury Summons’ you have received. This should include your summons date and the estimated length of trial. (This is not the same as a ‘Notice of Inclusion’ on the Jury Roll).

  • You are enrolled in subjects within the period of which you have been summoned for jury duty.

Statement of Course Completion

A statement of course completion is a letter confirming that you have completed the necessary components of your degree and that you have been approved by the Faculty Board, and are eligible to graduate, or have successfully graduated. It will state:

  • your name, date of birth and student number

  • the name of the course that you have completed

  • your commencement date and conferral date (if applicable)

  • That English is the medium of instruction for your course (optional)

  • The names of any friends or family who would use the letter for a visa application to visit Australia to attend your graduation ceremony (optional)

Statements will only be issued after the official release of results of your final session of study.

Please note:you may also advise third parties to verify that you have graduated from a course at UTS through the Qualification Verification Service. This is a free service.

Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) for international students

If your student visa will expire before you complete your studies, you will need to apply for a new CoE and a new student visa.

International students can request a new CoE by completing the online form below. This process is not automatic. Your new CoE can only be issued if you are enrolled in the required study load, you have no outstanding fees and your international student status is satisfactory.

For further information on applying for a new student visa, please read the information about Student visa (opens an external site) on the Department of Home Affairs website. You may also need to request an academic transcript for your application.

CustomisedStudent or Alumni record letter

If you are a current or past UTS student, you may want a letter which includes specific wording or information about your study that is not included in the Statement of Enrolment or Completion above. For instance, you may be completing a visa application or a university application, or going through a registration process.

In this case, you can submit a request for a customised letter. After we have confirmed that we can supply the letter as you have requested, an administrative charge will be payable.

Please note: we are unable to include any information which is not stored on your student record, and we are not able to exclude any information from your record.

Student or Alumni file

You can submit an enquiry to request the information on your student file that relates to your student administration records.
