Do you work in local government and are looking to advance your leadership skills?

This leadership course is designed to help local government professionals develop an authentic and effective leadership approach that helps to generate meaningful impact for their council and communities. Working in local government is all about delivering outcomes. Leading for impact in local government requires an understanding of how your individual leadership capability is best applied to generate these outcomes according to the needs and contexts of your council environment. Local government professionals who lead for impact have the courage to implement new ways of working and thinking. They are able to draw from a toolbox of leadership approaches that can navigate and address challenges and opportunities with the ultimate aim of creating impact for their councils and communities.

The relevance of understanding leadership theory is explored in this leadership course and you will have the opportunity to put your leadership thinking into practice by using tools that draw from systems thinking, ethical leadership, adaptive leadership and working collaboratively as applied to your own working environment.

The course teachings are based on evidence and rigour, drawing on cutting edge theory and practice relating to leadership development. The program encourages self-reflection in relation to your leadership development with the workshop closing with a self-reflection ‘check-out’ exercise.
