Local Government Leadership Courses
Exploring the context of change, global trends and different leadership challenges, participants will learn how to lead in times of crisis. Challenging you beyond your comfort zone, this course will help you apply contemporary leadership practices to your everyday role.
Learn about the scope, scale and history of local government while exploring its political, social and economic context. Exploring public sector management theory and contemporary leadership frameworks, you will be challenged to stretch your thinking and grow your leadership impact.
Explore leadership impact through the lens of leadership development pathways and capability frameworks for local government. Participants will discuss and evaluate different leadership influences and practice tools for progressing leadership thinking.
Learn the role of strategy and purpose in creating high-impact ways of working. This leadership course is designed to empower current and aspiring leaders with the strategic acumen required to navigate the complexities of government administration successfully.
This leadership course explores the components of emotional intelligence involved in empowering yourself to motivate others – achieving high performance across your team. It aims to build your capacity and capability to be a purposeful, inclusive leader who can lead for impact.
Leading in Local Government microcredential
This program explores cutting-edge leadership theory and practice, blending case-in-point teaching, live case studies, group and individual take-away tasks and assessments.
The Leading in Local Government program aligns with a subject in the UTS Graduate Certificate in Local Government, Graduate Diploma in Local Government and the MBA Local Government Leadership sub-major. Complete the entire Leading in Local Government program and you can walk away with a UTS credential.
