The award-winning Transdisciplinary (TD) Electives Program scales our unique teaching and learning experience to be delivered to all UTS undergraduate students.
The TD Electives Program brings together students from across all faculties at UTS to unpack complexity and learn how to work with others to meaningfully intervene in wicked systems through the lens of a real industry challenge.
Partnering with the TD Electives Program is a unique opportunity to be part of an award-winning Work Integrated Learning program, where university students can develop their practical experience as emerging professionals, with a real-world context.
We seek a variety of partners from the corporate, government and community sectors to collaborate with us to:
Codesign a learning question or themes of exploration that are strategic for the partner organisation over three years.
Contribute to pre-recorded student learning modules.
Participate in live engagements in subject for three years to help students develop their projects (e.g. Q&A’s, mentorship, and providing feedback on student ideas).

2025 Gold Winner, QS Reimagine Education in the category 'The Power of Partnerships'
As a key industry collaborator for more than two years in the program, we have a deep commitment to the unique transdisciplinary learning and innovation taught in this pioneering program at UTS, contributing meaningfully to the educational experience of students. The partnership is driven by wanting to connect with and inspire university students as well as a shared belief in the power of diverse perspectives in solving real problems.
