Iñigo De Juan Razquin
Iñigo joined the PhD programme at UTS in July 2021, after completing his MSc in Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science, sponsored by the Fundación Ramón Areces fellowship. Before that he completed a double bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics at the Public University of Navarre, near his hometown in the Basque Country, Spain.
During his undergraduate programme he also studied at UTS (2017-2018), the University of Idaho (US, 2019) and Yonsei University (Korea, 2019).In 2019 he had the opportunity to participate in the undergraduate summer research internship at Center for Monetary and Financial Studies (CEMFI) in Madrid, which was pivotal to his decision to pursue a career in academia.
Iñigo’s research interests have been constantly developing in recent years. These range from development economics in its microeconomic branch, empirical political economy, behavioural economics, and the intersection between the fundamentals of microeconomic theory and social psychology.
He has undertaken some practical experience in industry, with an internship at Compass Lexecon in 2020 in the field of antitrust and competition economics. His interest in theoretical IO stems from this experience.
