The UTS Behavioural Lab conducts research studies, predominantly using experiments, to make informed recommendations to practitioners in industry and government.

The UTS Behavioural Lab operates as part of the Centre for Behavioural Science and Policy Design (CBSPD) and comprises more than 20 academics from across the UTS Business School, spanning disciplines such as economics, marketing, finance and psychology. Our researchers answer important questions such as:
- What drives motivation?
- How do we influence decision-making?
- What can businesses do to inspire social change?
The Laboratory
The physical laboratory – where much of the research is carried out – is set within the Frank Gehry-designed Dr Chau Chak Wing Building.
The Lab is a state-of-the-art testing environment equipped with headsets, privacy partitions and participant-management software.
Participate in Behavioural Lab studies
Our research studies are often conducted with the help of thousands of Sydneysiders – both students and members of the public – who have registered their interest to participate in a research study in our Behavioural Lab research participant database.
If you are interested in participating in paid research studies, you can learn more and sign up on our UTS Behavioural Lab recruitment site
