Students writing together

Our WriteNow session provides a quiet place to study and write your assignments utilising evidence-based methods to help you focus and get your work done.

Study resources include:

  • Anti-procrastination worksheets

  • Body doubling

  • Pomodoro timer

  • Comfortable and modular study space

If a query about your writing comes up during your session, you can drop in next door to get help from a learning advisor at the assignment chat service. No booking required.

Once you have completed your draft and are in need of feedback, you should book in for one-to-one assignment advice.

From Week 3 to Week 12

  • Sessions run from 3:00pm to 5:00pm every Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • Location: Building 1, Level 5, Room 01 (HELPS Learning Lounge)

FAQ

At WriteNow, we can help you to:

  • understand your assignment questions and assessment criteria
  • develop and structure your ideas
  • use and reference evidence effectively
  • improve sentence and paragraph level writing
  • identify and understand your language issues.

But we can’t:

  • help you with the content of you assignments
  • correct or ‘check’ grammar and spelling
  • proofread your writing
  • help you with take-home exams
  • provide subject tutoring.

Who can attend?

The sessions are available to anyone.

If you are looking for a quiet space to work on your assignment with support on hand, this space is for you!

When to attend?

Feel free to attend these sessions at any stages of your writing process.

We recommend to start on your assignment early and work on it consistently and progressively. Please note the space may not be as helpful if you leave your assignment to the last minute.

What should I bring and do I need to register?

You don't need to register. Check the schedule & venue above and just attend.

When you attend, please remember:

  • It is essential that you bring any material that is relevant to the assignment that you are currently working on (e.g. subject outline, reading list, assignment task, assessment criteria).
  • It is up to you as to how long you stay for each session (e.g. you can stay for the whole 2 hours if you like).
  • Plan in advance and please do not seek assistance on the day the assignment is due.

Go to One-to-one consultation or  Online assignment writing review program.
