Academic Board has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
academic transcript has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
Act has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
admitted means a person who has received and accepted an offer of a place in a course or program at the University, and who has completed all required steps to confirm their intention to study with the University.
Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
award has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
award course has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
By-law has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
Council has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
course means an award course or non-award study or any part of such program of study offered by the University into which students are admitted and may include single subjects or time-based study in which students are enrolled.
cross-institutional study has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
decision-maker, in relation to general misconduct, means any person who is empowered to make decisions about whether alleged general misconduct has occurred, and/or about the imposition of penalties.
enrolment has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
faculty has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
graduate has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
general misconduct is defined in Rule 2.2.
internship has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
misconduct, in Rule 4.7.3, and in Rule 4.8.1, means general misconduct and/or misconduct defined in Rule 16.2 of the UTS Student Rules.
nominee has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
non-award study means a program of study that does not lead to an award of the University and may fall into the following categories:
- short forms of learning
- non-award single subject study
- professional registration courses
- cross-institutional study
- international exchange study
- UTS Foundation Studies course
- non-award preparatory course
- exchange program; and/or
- study abroad program.
officer of the University means a member of staff of the University or person engaged as a contractor by the University to provide services on behalf of the University.
official academic record has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
register has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
student means a person who is admitted in an award course or non-award study at the University.
subject means a self-contained unit of study that is approved by a Faculty Board.
testamur has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
time-based study means courses or subjects which use time as the basic measurement of their duration.
University or UTS has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
University campus has the same meaning as 'campus' in the Campus Policy.
University Secretary has the meaning set out in Schedule 1 of the UTS Student Rules.
Vice-Chancellor's nominee means a person nominated by the Vice-Chancellor, or by a delegate of the Vice-Chancellor, to perform a particular role, or exercise a particular power, in relation to these Rules.
