This is a dual degree that can be combined with 29 course offerings where you will spend a year studying abroad in one of 14 countries and learn one of 6 languages. One of the benefits of this dual degree is that you will still be enrolled at UTS and your year studying abroad is factored into your degree so you won’t have to adjust your study plan.
Did you know that UTS provides support for students studying International Studies? They do this by:
Covering your tuition costs at the host university
Booking and paying for your return flights from Sydney
Paying visa fees
At least one in-country visit from a UTS academic
Continued support and advice from a UTS supervisor and travel liaison
This course is designed to be taken concurrently with an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree program at UTS.
You can choose from one of six language options and by completing the Diploma you'll develop an international perspective and graduate with the skills to thrive in a globally focused workplace. International travel isn’t part of the diploma but you have the option of putting everything you have learned into practice by going overseas on an International Intensive Elective as part of your main degree. Keen to find out more? Check out the FAQs.
In this stand-alone course, you’ll learn about globalisation and your place in the world by studying politics, economics and culture in combination with a major (Business, Management, Communications, Health or Legal Studies). If you want to make it international you can complete an International Internship Elective, go on a session-long global exchange placement or study another language.
UTS has one of the largest international exchange programs in Australia with over 240 exchange programs in over 40 countries. Global exchange allows you to study overseas for one or two teaching sessions at a UTS partner university. Even better, whilst studying overseas, you remain enrolled at UTS and receive credit towards your degree.
