Our graduates don't just learn about nursing and midwifery, they emerge as pioneers in these dynamic fields. They provide safe, effective, and compassionate care that significantly improves health outcomes for individuals and communities. They rise as leaders, become agents of change, and carve new paths as innovative researchers.

Our teaching isn't confined to the theoretical; it's grounded in the realities of clinical practice. By combining the convenience of digital learning with the immediacy of face-to-face interactions and hands-on clinical experiences, we offer an educational journey that is engaging, inspiring, and challenging.

Guiding this journey are our educators, who bring not just their pedagogical prowess but also their rich clinical expertise to you learning journey. Immerse yourself in our Clinical Practice Laboratories at UTS, globally recognised and showcased in films and TV series for their authentic, advanced designs. Our 16 specialized labs mimic real hospital environments, complete with beds, medical equipment, and life-like manikins.

Experience specific clinical scenarios in labs like our unique perioperative space or challenge your theoretical knowledge in one of our five high-fidelity simulation labs.

Our teaching leverages simulation to replicate real-life practice. Manikins, like the SimMan®3G, mimic human functions, adding a sense of realism to your learning journey.

Beyond simulation, our labs offer flexible spaces for study, collaboration, and relaxation. With year-round staffing by our clinical education team, you can refine your skills at your convenience. Join UTS for a transformative learning experience, where theory meets practice in a world-class setting.

Profile of Tracy Levett-Jones

Philosophically, when I think of excellence in teaching, it is much more than imparting information or creating knowledge. Being a teacher is a privileged position where the primary responsibility is one of facilitator of learning. I believe that excellence in teaching should make a profound difference in the learner and the way they view the world. To me, the quality of learning is high when students show intellectual, emotional and ethical growth, and teaching is excellent when it fosters that growth.

Distinguished Professor Tracy Levett-Jones
Professor of Nursing Education

Study Midwifery at UTS

Christine Catling

I believe research, innovation and good quality evidence-based midwifery practice are pivotal to the well-being of mothers and young families. At UTS, the midwifery academic team teach in a practice-oriented education model and we use cutting edge technology to ensure graduates are work-ready and confident in their discipline.

Providing midwifery students with the tools to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and, at times, intense environment, the UTS midwifery academics ensure students are also able to care for themselves in this space.

Professor Christine Catling
Conjoint Professor of Midwifery
