The Faculty of Engineering and IT is committed to creating and leading social change. Founded in 1981, the Women in Engineering and IT (WiEIT) program is the longest standing of its kind in Australia. The WiEIT program equips women with the skills, knowledge and confidence to enter the workforce and challenge the status quo of the engineering and IT fields. We are proud to support women through multiple initiatives, including through the Women in Engineering and IT scholarship, which provides $10,000 per year in financial assistance to female students in need.
We also recognise that creating change requires the right resources to do so. The Faculty of Engineering and IT has state-of-the-art facilities, with civil, electrical, information technology, and mechanical laboratories. Our building also hosts the UTS Data Arena, a 360-degree interactive data facility that allows researchers and students to visualise and interact with data.
