The Deep Green Biotech Hub offers a variety of support programs for businesses and entrepreneurs in developing algae-based biotechnology solutions to progress sustainable innovation in NSW, across Australia, and around the globe.
Entrepreneurs
- Our Green Light program provides up to $10,000 AUD in seed funding and curated support to help start-ups and SMEs develop or implement an algae-based product or service (“solution”). We aim for you to walk away with a customer validated business model with a rigorous research and development plan ready to pitch to investors!
- Subscribe to our newsletter to keep updated on news, funding opportunities and programs specific to algae-curious start-ups and SMEs.
Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
- Our programs are supported by world-class researchers from the Climate Change Cluster (C3), Faculty of Science, University of Technology Sydney.
- We can connect you with expertise from C3 and across the University of Technology Sydney that provide training and research opportunities in upstream/downstream bioprocessing, microalgae cultivation and advanced manufacturing.

Note: for all of the above engagement mechanisms an organisation may be eligible for a R&D Tax Incentive (opens an external site), which may result in up to 45% of the eligible research expenditure being recovered from the Australian Taxation Office.
