A culturally supportive entry into university for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
The Jumbunna Admission Program is a free and dedicated entry scheme to the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, that looks beyond academic scores like the ATAR.
It has been designed to recognise and value the strengths, experiences, and aspirations of Indigenous learners.
The program considers a broader range of evidence, such as school performance, work history, personal strengths, civic engagement, and community leadership.
I was able to apply for my degree before my ATAR score was even released. It was a huge weight off my shoulders getting an early offer, it allowed me to focus on finishing year 12 without the added pressure.
Who can apply for the Jumbunna Admission Program?
The Jumbunna Admission program is open to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Note: Key dates and application requirements are slightly different for current school leavers (finishing Year 12 this year), and non-current school leavers (finished Year 12 in 2024 or earlier). Please see further information below and keep in mind when submitting your application.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us via email at Jumbunna.Outreach@uts.edu.au, or phone on 1800 064 312.
