What support is there once I’m at UTS?

• Scholarships and start-pack

  All students accepted through the Jumbunna Admission Program will receive a support package to help them start strong at UTS.

  Start-Up Grant – $750

  This one-off payment is provided when you enrol to help cover upfront costs like textbooks and study supplies.

  Commencement Scholarship – $1,500 

  This scholarship is paid after the Census date to support your transition into university study.

  Laptop provision 

  Each eligible student may be provided with a new laptop to support digital access and full participation in their studies. Support is assessed on a need basis.

  Accommodation scholarship 

  Support is available for students who need help securing on-campus or nearby accommodation. Assistance is provided based on availability and individual needs assessment.

  In addition to the above, our friendly Student Services team can also support you in applying for other UTS and external scholarships.

• How are the Jumbunna Admission Program applications assessed?

  Applications will be assessed by a panel based on:

  1. Your academic results and/or work experience (where relevant)
  2. Your personal statement
  3. Your letter of recommendation (for current school leavers only)

• When will I find out if my application is successful?

  For current school leavers

  Early Conditional Offers will be announced on Thursday 13 November 2025.

  Main round offers will be released on the dates below:

  • Tuesday 23 December 2025
  • Monday 12 January 2026

  For non-current school leavers

  Offers for non-current school leavers will be made on a rolling basis after assessment of applications, with the cut-off for applications Thursday 8 January 2026 for admission in 2026.

• What does a conditional offer mean?

  If you're a Year 12 student, a conditional offer means your place at UTS is secured as long as you complete your HSC and provide all required documentation. Once these conditions are met, your offer will be converted to a full offer on Tuesday 23 December 2025.

• How do I accept or defer my offer?

• Will I be required to provide confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent?

  Yes, you will need to provide one of the following:

  • Confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent document with a common seal in the applicant's name, OR
  • Statutory Declaration with two references from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community members who are not directly related to you, who can confirm you are of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. Please note we do not accept references from school or other statutory declarations.

• If I apply to other Universities, will this impact my application?

  No! Applying to other Universities will not impact your application.

• If I receive a Jumbunna Admission Program offer, can I still be eligible for offers via UAC?

  Yes! The Jumbunna Admission Program and UAC is separate. You can get an offer through the Jumbunna Admission Program and receive offers in the UAC offer rounds. UAC offers will be based on your Year 12 results and eligible adjustments.
