The 14 Australasian Cancer Cooperative Trials Group (CCTGs) regularly conduct survey and interview studies that invite people affected by cancer about their experiences and needs. The insights collected may be used to help the CCTGs choose which clinical trials to conduct and design the best interventions to be tested.

Survey studies ask people to complete questionnaires, usually online and without any contact with the research team.

Interview studies usually take the form of a 'conversation' with someone from the research team, often over the phone or online.

Each study will vary as to how long participants will take and what questions people will be invited to answer.

Survey studies

CST - Symptoms and Side Effects

Are you under 25 with a cancer diagnosis, or looking after someone who is? Or, did you have a cancer diagnosis before you turned 25?

CST want to use a survey to identify the most troubling symptoms or side effects of your illness or treatment. CST can then use this information to direct research and clinical trials to improve quality of life and help others going through this journey. This is the first survey of its kind in Australia and New Zealand.

To find out more about this, please visit the CST website.

Interview studies

MASC Trials - Development of a quality of life questionnaire for people with metastatic uveal melanoma

Open to: Clinicians and metastatic uveal melanoma patients
Conducted by: Melanoma and Skin Cancer Trials (MASC Trials)
How: Participation will involve a 30-minute interview conducted via video conference (Zoom or Skype).
