Outline of an official building

Effective policy sits at the foundation of more sustainable futures, but today’s policy environment is more complex and interconnected than ever. We work with a range of government agencies to scope, design, implement and evaluate new and existing policy initiatives that consider regulation, technology, infrastructure, price, externalities, behaviour, and social and environmental impacts.

Why policy analysis and development at ISF?

Our policy work is underpinned by rigorous analysis and an in-depth understanding of sustainability principles, theories of change and effective evaluation techniques. We have scoped, designed and delivered policy initiatives at national and international levels, drawing on the diversity of the Institute’s research expertise to produce flexible, innovative and transdisciplinary outcomes.

What we offer

Our policy analysis and development work is focused on:

  • reviewing and evaluating existing policies and programs
  • rigorous quantitative and qualitative research to provide a knowledge-base for effective policy
  • scoping and designing new policies and programs
  • testing policies and programs through stakeholder engagement.
