UTS Launchpad is a new elective where student founders transform their business ideas into real startups in just one semester.
Get free startup advice and begin your adventure: attend a consultation session. Drop in consultation sessions are held all year Wednesdays 2pm-3:30pm on the sofas near the elevators of UTS building 11, level 7.

Developed in partnership with the directors of executive education at Stanford University's Institute of Design (d.school) and with successful entrepreneurs, this is an intensive and transformational subject focussed on developing an entrepreneurial mindset in founders and supporting them as they launch real businesses.
So far, the Spring 2017 cohort:
- Received free legal support and access to the CorrsEdge platform, thanks to a generous donation from Corrs Chambers Westgarth
- Launched their product/service at the ProtoJam entrepreneurship trade show
- Met, pitched and received advice from investors and other professionals
- Launched real businesses and generated growing sales revenue
- Won a range of startup and pitching competitions
This is not theoretical. You will launch a real startup and have real customers. Assignments are focussed on your startup. For example, some assignments will require you to actually sell your product or service.
The classroom experience is hands-on and collaborative. There are no Lectures. In the classroom, you will be working on your business, developing leadership skills and putting them into practice while helping other founders in the class become successful leaders.
You will share the adventure with a cohort of likeminded entrepreneurs.
The teaching team includes a Stanford-trained subject coordinator, working in close collaboration with the directors of executive education at Stanford's d.school. External experts are incorporated into the curriculum to ensure that your startup has the support you need to succeed.
The subject is available as an elective to all students by application. Applications for Spring 2017 have closed but will open again in 2018.
Before applying, please attend at least two consultation sessions. The consultation sessions will help you to validate demand for your idea and assess whether your start-up is ready for UTS Launchpad. Validation takes time so please attend the consultation session as early as possible.
Consultation sessions are held Wednesdays 2pm-3:30pm on the sofas near the elevators of UTS building 11, level 7. Sign up for room changes and other Launchpad updates.
