We strongly encourage all our science students to explore professional experience opportunities, and when possible take on an internship, while studying at UTS.

A science research experience can be either a research project in one of the many research labs on campus, or engage in lab-based or field-based work with an external organisation such as medical firms, hospitals or national parks.

In order to enrol in a UTS Science Research Experience subject, you must have a free elective in your Study Plan. Research Experience can be 6p, 12p or 18p credits.

Most research groups in Science have a range of projects suitable for students. If you are interested:

  1. Find a in your area of interest
  2. Contact the group leader
  3. Check out the details of the enrolment process at UTS CareerHub.
