Mathematical Sciences at UTS maintains research expertise across a broad range of areas in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, with a strong orientation towards industry-focussed problems and applications.

Areas of research strength include Financial Mathematics, Operations Research, Theoretical Photonics, Differential Equations, Computation, Statistical Methods and Data Science. We have a particular focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, having strong links with FEIT, the UTS Business School, the climate change cluster (C3), Physics and Forensic Science, as well as external collaborations, such as through the ARC Centre of Excellence in Mathematical and Statistical Frontiers (ACEMS).
