While you may have heard of her inclusive performance style, ongoing charity advocacy (and maybe even her 2020 UTS Young Alumni Award), most people don’t know that Emma is also a skilled filmmaker – having graduated from UTS with a Master of Media Arts Production in 2012.

Jacinta Bailey started a not-for-profit education organisation in the Ecuadorian Amazon, while completing her Bachelor of Communication at UTS.

High Jackman completed a Bachelor of Arts in Communications at UTS. He says "My passion and fire for learning was lit at UTS"

Dr Anna Funder gained her Doctorate of Creative Arts at UTS. Her best-selling novel All that I Am, was born in the UTS Tower.

Alumni award winners

Each year, the UTS Alumni Awards highlight the extraordinary ways our graduates contribute to their profession and society.

Kate is at the forefront of new discoveries as a multiple award-winning scientist and engineer. Her main focus is on the control of respirable crystalline silica (also known as silica dust) and advocating for the health of construction workers across Australia.

After graduating with a degree in environmental biology, Ben’s love of nature and the outdoors propelled him into bush regeneration.

Julie McCrossin has built an admirable career out of talking to people and stimulating thought-provoking conversations about things that matter.

Mayrah Sonter is a proud Wiradjuri woman who has forged a successful career as a communications specialist, events producer and journalist, driven by her passion for empowering First Nations peoples.
