Expanded support for allied health students from 2027
Students in some allied health disciplines may be able to access Commonwealth Practicum Payments from July 2027, following a recent Australian Government announcement.
Universities are currently waiting for information - including information about student eligibility - from the Commonwealth Department of Education. UTS will contact students who may be eligible in the months ahead.
If you’re a domestic student studying teaching, nursing or midwifery, you may be eligible to apply for a Commonwealth government payment to support your prac placements.
The payment is designed to provide you with financial support to help you manage ongoing costs while undertaking mandatory practical placements.
