International student advisers

You can talk to student advisers who can help you adjust to life at UTS. They can also help you resolve any problems that could prevent you from completing your course.

Each session, international student advisers send out an email filled with useful information for international students. This will be sent to your student email.

You can speak to an international student adviser about:

  • issues affecting your study
  • extending your study and applying for a new Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
  • reducing your study load or taking Leave of Absence
  • other issues - when you don't know who to talk to, our student advisers can help you find the right service.

A guide to UTS support services

At UTS, we understand that studying in a new country away from your family and friends can be an overwhelming experience. That's why we have a range of support services to help you ease into university life in Sydney.

The UTS international student centre has student advisors to help you resolve any problem that might prevent you from completing your course successfully. When you don't know who to talk to, our student advisors can connect you with the right service. You can visit the international student centre from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The centre is located on level 3A of the UTS tower.

UTS also offers a wide range of services to enhance the learning, health, and well-being of all UTS students.

The UTS HELPS service offers free workshops on academic writing, presentation skills, conversation practice, and speaking skills.

U:PASS can help you get through challenging subjects. You can attend study sessions that are run by students who did well in the subject that you’re taking.

The UTS Student Association offers a range of services, including private tutoring and short-term equipment loans. You can also request assistance from professional caseworkers for a range of academic concerns. If you require legal advice or support, the Students’ Association Legal Service can provide confidential advice on a range of matters such as tenancy and employment.

Talkfest is a great way to meet other students and learn more about Australia. Jump into any session – online or face-to-face – for speed-friending, trivia, and more.

BUILD is a free program where you'll develop international leadership skills through on-campus seminars, guest lectures, and networking sessions.

UTS SOUL Award encourages international students to engage with UTS and the wider Sydney community. You'll be able to meet other students, gain work experience, and develop leadership skills through volunteering activities.

UTS Careers works closely with graduate recruiters and faculties to create programs and events that equip UTS students with key employability skills.

One, check your UTS email regularly. UTS international sends out an e-newsletter full of useful information, fun activities, and exciting opportunities for international students.

Two, read the international student guide, which you will receive during orientation and is available to download from our website. It's full of handy tips to get you settled.

Three, don't be afraid to ask for help. Contact us with your questions by phone, email or at the student centre. UTS international is here to help you.
