Graduation advice: Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Graduation ceremonies from Wednesday 29 April to Tuesday 19 May have been postponed until further notice.
It’s too soon to say when UTS will be able to reschedule these ceremonies, but we will keep you informed of any plans for future dates (so keep an eye on your UTS email) and we look forward to celebrating your hard-earned achievement with you.
Please find important information below regarding the conferral of your award and official graduation documentation.
While you may not be able to take part in a graduation ceremony for the moment, you can be assured access to your digital graduation documents once your degree has been conferred by Academic Board.
Irrespective of postponed ceremonies in April and May, your digital documentation will be made available to you from Tuesday 31 March 2020 and you will have access to the following:
- Academic record (transcript)
- Australian Higher Education Statement (AHEGS)
- UTS testamur.
You will receive a separate email for each digital document once it is available. These emails will be sent to your preferred email address as recorded in MyStudentAdmin, under the ‘Personal Details’ tab.
If you don’t already have a My eQuals account, now is the perfect time to create one. Find out how to create an account or visit the My eQuals website (opens external site).
If you require any further information relating to the Coronavirus, please visit the Coronavirus advice and frequently asked questions. For specific graduation questions, please askUTS and add into your subject headline ‘Graduations’.
Domestic graduation ceremonies are held in the Great Hall:

UTS graduates who are eligible to attend an international ceremony (Shanghai) will be contacted via their UTS webmail account with information about the ceremony date, academic dress, photography, tickets and payment of ceremony fees.
If you are eligible, and hope to attend an international ceremony, please keep your contact details up-to-date on My Student Admin.
International Students' Farewell Ceremony
The International Students' Farewell Ceremony is a formal event, held in Autumn and Spring sessions for departing international students who cannot remain in Australia until their official graduation ceremony. The ceremony includes an academic procession. Students wear academic dress, receive a certificate of participation and are presented to the representative of the Vice-Chancellor and President. Students won’t receive the testamur or formal results at this event.
If you’ve just graduated, you can join UTS Alumni and enjoy a range of benefits and social activities, including special offers, event invitations, publications and an international network of contacts.
