Speech Pathology
Compliance
You are required to achieve full compliance by 30 June in your first year of the course.
Please ensure you upload all necessary compliance documents to MyPlacement by the end of Professional Skills Week (10–14 February 2025) to allow time for GSH and NSW Health to review your documents.
The Graduate School of Health Clinical Compliance Checklist (PDF 140KB) will assist you in meeting the requirements of the School and NSW Health.
If you are not compliant, you are not able to attend placements and risk failing the subject.
Process
Step 1
- Upload the required compliance forms onto MyPlacement under Forms and Checks tabs.
- Once ready to be assessed, submit a request to the Graduate School of Health Clinical Placement Team to review.
Step 2
- The GSH Clinical Placement Team will review the documents and reach out via email to advise you if any evidence is outstanding or requires clarification.
- If you have all the required documentation, GSH Clinical Placement Team will advise you to send all your documents to NSW Health for formal assessment.
Step 3
- Following formal assessment, you will be provided with an outcome directly from NSW Health and that information will be updated on the Checks tab in MyPlacement within 24 hours.
UTS name badge
Students are required to wear a UTS name badge while on clinical placement and during simulated placement activities.
Students will be required to purchase a name badge during the first week of Autumn session. Payment of $10 is required.
Uniform
You are required to wear the official UTS Graduate School of Health uniform while on clinical placement and during simulated placement activities. You must appear neat, tidy, and professional at all times while on placement and traveling to/from placement.
- The UTS Speech Pathology uniform consists of an ambassador shirt and black corporate style pants/skirts.
- Shoes should be comfortable and comply with occupational health and safety requirements and as such must be black, full enclosed, non-slip, low heeled, non-canvas shoes. Sport style footwear is not suitable for placements.
- Long hair must be tied back firmly above the collar. A ‘bun’ rather than a long ponytail is preferred. Moustaches and beards must be trimmed and tidy.
- Minimal jewellery is permitted.
Other items, apart from the ambassador shirt, may be purchased elsewhere but must comply with the uniform requirements. Additional non-uniform items of clothing are generally not permitted.
You are responsible for ensuring that your clothes are laundered and ironed for the duration of your placement. Personal grooming is important in the workplace. You are advised to use deodorant, however, please be mindful of the perfume/ aftershave you wear to ensure that it is not too overwhelming.

Once received, please upload evidence, indicate your WWCC number and expiry on MyPlacement under the Checks tab.
