What you’ll study
In this one-year, part-time program, you’ll build the skills to prescribe safely and effectively. You’ll learn how to assess patients, make therapeutic decisions, and apply prescribing frameworks in practice. Aligned with AHPRA’s Prescribing Competencies Framework, the course helps you develop confidence, cultural awareness, and professional judgment to prescribe autonomously within healthcare teams.

You’ll complete two Prescribing Skills subjects to build your knowledge of prescribing frameworks, decision-making, and legal responsibilities. Alongside these, two Advanced Clinical Skills subjects strengthen your ability to assess patients and manage conditions—skills essential for safe, effective prescribing.

Industry accreditation
The prescribing portion of the UTS Graduate Certificate in Pharmacist Prescribing (Prescribing Skills 1 and 2) is currently being assessed for accreditation by the Australian Pharmacy Council.
