About this course
This course builds practical, industry‑aligned expertise in downstream bioprocessing, focusing on purification workflows as they are applied in GMP manufacturing settings.
Participants complete focused online preparation to consolidate core downstream concepts, followed by an immersive, hands‑on practical program at the BIF. The face‑to‑face component prioritises real purification activities, including equipment operation, process monitoring, documentation, and interpretation of performance data.
The course explores how downstream process design and execution influence product quality, yield, and process consistency, and how quality control (QC) data and Design of Experiments (DoE) approaches are used to support process optimisation and integration with upstream manufacture and broader production workflows.
