About the UTS Project Management students

Many of the UTS postgraduate students are currently working in industry and have professional experience in commercial settings. The students have all completed their foundation studies and have capacity to coach your community organisation on how to manage the project on a long-term, ongoing basis.

UTS Built Environment postgraduate students collaborate on many real-world industry projects

The UTS Community Project Internship

An experienced project manager will act as a mentor to each project group to provide practical support and collaborate on ideas. Students will also seek guidance from industry-connected academic staff from UTS Built Environment, while attending various face-to-face workshops to develop their skills and knowledge.

Timeframe

The subject is taught in Spring Semester (from August to October) with a 12-week timeframe. All organisations must agree to participate for this entire duration, which may include on-site visits and regular meetings.

Terms of work

The terms of work for the project are to be negotiated by the student and the UTS subject coordinator upon project approval from UTS Built Environment.

Organisations who have previously taken part in the Community Project Internship include Camp Out, Pacific Aid Australia and North Ryde Rotary.
