Find your tribe at university

14 December 2021

For some of us, it may have been a little tricky finding like-minded mates in high school. I mean sure, you can rant about that biology assignment or share your whack dreams with friends, but at the end of the six hours at school, there can be a disconnect if your biggest interests are kinda different to them. Eek.

Hello UTS Home

But trust us when we say, university has much more space and opportunities to find friends with similar passions. Don’t believe us? Well, just keep reading along! Here’s how you can and will find your people.

1. The Creatives

Does art imitate life or does life imitate art? This is the question on all your minds as you boogie to some live music or stroll through an art gallery.

Why not join the UTS Design Society for art lovers/makers or anything in between? You could suss out the UTS Art Gallery with all the events, exhibitions and panels they have on show all year round!

There are an array of sports teams for everyone! Why not join ‘The Bats’, one of the premier Aussie Rules Football clubs in NSW, or the ‘UTS Rowing Club’, with an unreal reputation. Netball, Taekwondo, Water Polo, Volleyball, Athletics, Basketball - just to name a few, these are just some of the many sports you could get amongst at UTS and meet a tonne of funky people!
