AusLEAP is an innovative program, facilitated by UTS, which connects international students in NSW with local, established community, charity, not-for-profit, and social enterprise organisations to undertake training and volunteering opportunities

Through AusLEAP, you will work on real projects and develop global skills, gain hands-on experience as well as expand your network

  • Connect with local organisations

    Through AusLEAP you can connect you with local organisations to get hands-on experience addressing social and environmental causes. You'll also deepen your understanding of the Australian workplace culture.

  • Discover 

    Discover personal and professional opportunities with a community of like-minded individuals across many universities and institutions.

  • Volunteering training

    You'll get volunteering training through tailored workshops, so that you are equipped with the skills and networks to build strong connections with locals, students and other volunteers.

About the program

Program duration
25 February - 18 March 2023

To participate in the program, you will:

  • need to be an enrolled international student from one of the partner institutions listed below;
  • attend four workshops (25 & 26 February, 4 & 18 March). Lunch will be provided;
  • volunteer your skills and time with the organisation you are matched with; and
  • share your experience with other volunteers.

  • Software programmer developing a game
  • Social media coordinator in marketing
  • Events management and planning at a not-for-profit organisation
  • Examining the legal aspects and compliance at a not-for-profit organisation
  • Web and graphic design expert
  • Re-doing a website for at a not-for-profit organisation
  • Volunteer management at a not-for-profit organisation
  • Data analytics at a not-for-profit organisation

    • Formal opening with key sponsors and local leaders
    • Welcome and introductions, establish program expectations and meet other participants
    • Learn about the power of volunteering
    • Gain new skills to become an effective communicator
