What you’ll study
From Autumn 2026, the NSW Legal Profession Admission Board requires PLT students to attend 15 days on campus and 15 days of practical experience. The on-campus attendance includes some assessments. As a student, you'll complete three core coursework subjects, developing vital professional skills and building your knowledge of contemporary legal practice.
You'll also undertake a practical work placement, where you'll apply your theoretical understanding in a real legal environment, building valuable professional experience. As a law graduate, and through completion of this qualification, you’ll meet both the educational and practical requirements to apply to the Supreme Court of NSW for registration as a practising lawyer.

“As an undergraduate at UTS, my values and professional interests aligned with the Law faculty, which was a great contributor in choosing to stay and continue my PLT studies at UTS. I enjoyed the subject of Legal and Practical Skills, where my previous legal knowledge and lived experiences could be translated into everyday scenarios of a legal practitioner.”
