Addressing international development challenges through collaboration
The challenges facing low- and middle-income countries are so complex and interconnected they cannot be addressed by simple solutions. They need the combined research power of many disciplines working together.
That’s why the UTS International Development Research Network exists. We bring together UTS researchers from diverse faculties and institutes – Business, Law, Science, the Institute for Sustainable Futures, Health, Design and Society, and Engineering and Information Technology – in order to best contribute to social justice and human rights, equity, and environmental sustainability, predominantly in Asia and the Pacific.

Our Network encourages collaboration across the university to address international development challenges. We share expertise, experience and peer learning to help tackle complex issues around the world.
Our research
Working with partners in governments, NGOs and philanthropists, we deliver comprehensive, effective, evidence-based solutions that address climate change, inequality, fragility, food insecurity, and exclusion.
Our people
Representing diverse UTS faculties and schools, as well as researchers from multiple UTS institutes, our thriving Network consists of some 100 researchers across many disciplines. This diversity is essential to solve current development challenges.
