Immersive forensic training: Designed to resemble a city apartment, the Crime Scene Simulation Lab provides a realistic environment for forensic science students. Here, you can practise essential skills like fingerprinting, evidence collection and detection techniques, all while gaining a deeper understanding of what it’s like to work as a forensic investigator.
The Sydney Declaration
When The Sydney Declaration was released in 2022, it paved the way towards a renewed paradigm for the global forensic science field.
Two years later, the declaration — which delivers a new definition of forensic science, underpinned by seven fundamental principles — is slowly starting to transform the discipline’s approach to professional practice, education and research.
Consultancy
The Centre for Forensic Science (CFS) provide consultancies, forensic testing and expert opinion services for legal firms and government agencies seeking independent expertise, guidance and support for arguments in court. Non-exhaustive examples include:
- Forensic analysis of trace materials and miscellaneous substances
- Forensic analysis of fire debris
- Enhancement of marks, including fingermarks
- Interpretation of forensic evidence, including DNA
- Forensic report review.
