Working with industry

Our research collaborations occur with universities, government departments and industry groups through joint research centres, joint PhD supervision, research projects and commercial contracts.

Our industry experience

Our researchers are making substantial leaps in video spatio-temporal localisation, using complex object and motion analysis in realistic scenes to better detect humans, objects and actions in real-world video data.

We’re pushing the boundaries of machine learning algorithm development and paving the way to redefine everything from how we manage stroke rehabilitation and autism, to elevating cognitive neuroscience research, signal and information processing, and more.

Graph analytics provides powerful insights into how to unlock the value graphs hold. In one of our recent collaboration projects with Alibaba Group, we provided solutions for large-scale graph analysis of various e-commerce graph data.

The DSKD Lab collaborated with the Australian Commonwealth Department of Health on a series of projects that apply the most advanced machine learning techniques to model and analyse healthcare administrative data to promote effective policy development.

The abundance of information urgently demands the development of personalised recommender systems for high quality e-service delivery. With advanced machine learning technology, we are launching a recommender system which adapts to fast-changing and various levels of user demands.

A pioneering collaboration between UTS researchers and The Ripper Group is fusing artificial intelligence and drone technologies to herald a new wave in surf lifesaving, using advanced machine learning techniques to detect sharks and other potential threats in real time.
