Chrisanthi Giotis is a postdoctorate research fellow at the CMT. Her interdisciplinary postdoctoral research considers what constitutes best practice when reporting global stories that effect local populations.
The two overarching research questions are:
1. What principles constitute journalism best practice at the local-global interface?
2. What role can new, glocal, journalism practices play in (re)building trust in a disaggregated and distributed media landscape?
The program will incorporate a pilot project testing innovative reporting techniques with journalism students and industry. This will start in second semester 2019.
An international roundtable discussing the concept of glocalism and its possible applications for journalism will be convened. Watch this space.
