QSI Professor Youming Qiao’s PhD student Chuanqi Zhang was recently awarded the Springer “Best Student Paper” award at the International Conference on Applied Cryptography and Network Security (ACNS 2026).

The winning paper "(Partially) Blind Signatures from Cryptographic Group Actions” addresses the topic of post-quantum cryptography, and is a joint publication between student Chuanqi Zhang, his Ph.D. supervisor Prof. Youming Qiao, external supervisor Dr. Dung Hoang Duong, and collaborators Dr. Xuan Thanh Khuc and Dist. Prof. Willy Susilo from the University of Wollongong.

According to the ACNS awards records, this is the first time a student from an Australian institution has received this award. This achievement reflects QSI's strong support for student research development and marks a meaningful achievement for Chuanqi to mark the end of his tenure as a UTS PhD student.
