QSI joins international alliance, leveraging quantum expertise to drive innovation.

On 4 November, UTS and the University of Oulu (Finland) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance joint research in future communication technologies, including 6G and beyond, quantum communications, and robotics.

This strategic partnership brings together complementary strengths: the University of Oulu leads the Finland’s 6G Flagship program, while UTS contributes strong capabilities through its key research centres — the Global Big Data Technologies Centre (GBDTC), the Centre for Quantum Software and Information (QSI) and the ARC Research Hub for Human-Robot Teaming.

QSI is at the forefront of quantum technology research and development initiatives in Australia. Since 2017, it has served as a major university partner within the ARC Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology (CQC²T). QSI’s participation in this Australia–Finland partnership underscores its leading research reputation and reinforces Australia’s role in quantum-enabled future technologies.
