Kickstart your career with the UTS Early Entry Program

28 June 2023

Designed for students who have excelled in Year 11, the UTS Early Entry program enables students to secure a place in their preferred business course.

Three undergraduate students in the Business Oval Classroom

Now in its third year, the program grants students admission based on their Year 11 academic achievements, easing the pressure and uncertainty of the traditional application process.

Streamlining the application process

Charlotte, a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Environment and Sustainability student, joined UTS through the Early Entry Program in 2022. She also convinced her friends to do the same, and now they study together at UTS while completing their degrees.

Charlotte's decision to apply stemmed from discovering the program through her high school. She researched the various UTS courses on offer to find her perfect fit and promptly submitted her application. Charlotte received her UTS offer before she did her HSC exams, avoiding the potential stress many experience with the HSC.

“When I got my early offer from UTS, it relieved a lot of pressure as I didn’t have to get a specific HSC mark.”

Embracing opportunities

Thriving in the vibrant UTS community, Charlotte has not only pursued her academic studies but also seized a multitude of opportunities offered by UTS. She has been involved in several student societies and undertaken leadership roles such as becoming a UTS Peer Networker. She also picked up a job as an Accessibility Notetaker which allowed her to understand the best way for her to absorb information. She is currently on exchange study in Denmark and is planning to go to Indonesia as part of the UTS BUILD program. She’s even taken advantage of accessing the UTS Gym at a discounted student rate.

Charlotte made friends through her classes and group assignments as well as these extra opportunities.

“Being part of the UTS community allowed me to do my own thing while also socialising and networking with my classmates and colleagues.”

Building for the Future

Now in her second year of study, Charlotte actively seeks support through UTS Careers to enhance her resume and secure internships, propelling her towards a successful career.

Reflecting on her experience, Charlotte encourages all Year 12 students to seize the opportunity presented by the Early Entry program.

"Applying through Early Entry was so simple and easy! I'd encourage anyone in Year 12 to apply. It takes around 10 minutes, and it's completely free. You have nothing to lose by applying."
