The University of Technology Sydney, Institute for Sustainable Futures (ISF) is partnering with UNICEF EAPRO to provide research, knowledge and learning support for water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) to its regional and country offices
The UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office (EAPRO) - ISF partnership is intended to strengthen the evidence base and build capacity for action across the Pacific-Asia region to advance universal access to climate resilient, safely managed, and socially-inclusive WASH services. The thematic areas of the partnership are:
- Ensuring WASH services are climate resilient
- Achieving universal access to safely managed services
- Strengthening inclusion, gender equality, human rights and accountability
ISF is supporting the UNICEF EAPRO regional office with regional learning and knowledge generation and providing strategic country office engagement and technical assistance.
Currently ISF is developing a tool to support country offices to monitor the contribution of WASH activities to building community resilience to climate change and supporting country offices to conduct climate risk assessments for WASH.
