This page explains how course transfers work for Communication and Creative Production students, including what type of application you need to submit.
The correct application pathway depends on:
- When you started your course (before 2026 or from 2026 onwards)
- Whether you are a domestic or international student
- What change you are requesting
Submitting the wrong application type can delay or prevent your transfer, so please read carefully.
When did you start your current degree?
I started my current degree before 2026
You are enrolled in an older course structure using 8 credit point subjects.
Because of this:
- Many changes cannot be made mid-course
- Some changes require a Course Transfer – Graduating application
- Moving into newer courses often creates credit point shortfalls
I started my current degree in 2026 or later
You are enrolled in the new course structure using 6 credit point subjects.
You generally have more flexibility, particularly when staying in the same major, though credit point impacts may still occur.

Before you apply
Please consider that:
- Credit point shortfalls are common
- Your course may take longer to complete
- Additional subjects may increase fees
- International students should consider visa and CoE impacts
- Completing 24 credit points of core subjects before applying may minimise credit point shortfalls
