UTS’s Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS) is an equity-focused scheme aimed at helping Year 12 students gain entry into university. While each university will set their own criteria for SRS, UTS is focused on supporting students who have the potential to succeed at university, but may not receive an offer based on ATAR or UTS’s educational access scheme inpUTS alone.
How does it work?
To be considered for SRS at UTS, students need to be eligible through the Educational Access Scheme - EAS (opens external site) for:
1. School environment (opens an external site - S01C and S01E only) or
2. Financial hardship (F01A, F01B, F01C or F01D), and
3. Achieve a pre-determined ATAR (69 or 80 for Law).
- Submit an EAS application through UAC
Students attending an eligible EAS-listed school (S01C or S01E) do not need to submit an EAS application as this is automatically considered.
- Submit your SRS application through UAC
Applications open in August and close in September.
- Schools rate each applicant’s strengths
The deadline for school ratings is October.
- Eligibility confirmed
Both UAC and UTS will notify students of their SRS eligibility and provide SRS Conditional Offer Advice letters from November.
- Students set preferences
Set your UTS course preference by December.
- Offers made
UTS will make SRS offers to eligible students in the UAC December Round 2.
We will confirm your SRS eligibility following ATAR release. To receive this advice you will need to have already set a UTS course as one of your preferences.
Where eligible applicants exceed positions available, UTS will finalise offerings based on ATAR and school feedback.
Upon starting at UTS, tailored support programs are offered to all SRS students to make the transition to university easier.
SRS students can also consider applying for one of the many scholarships UTS offer. Over 1000 scholarship offers are made to students on an annual basis, providing payment which can support any personal or study costs you have while studying with us.
