• What ATAR or entry requirements do I need to study a Biotechnology degree at UTS?

  Entry is based on your selection rank, which can include ATAR, adjustment points, or other recognised pathways. Students without an ATAR can visit the Admissions Pathways website for more information.

• What subjects should I study in Year 11 and Year 12 to study a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology?

  To set yourself up for success in a bachelor's degree in biotechnology, we recommend studying the following HSC subjects:

  • Mathematics (any level)
  • English (two units)
  • Science (two units in Chemistry and Biology are recommended).

  These provide a strong foundation for first-year subjects. 

• Are there any bridging courses for students who haven't studied enough Science subjects at school?

  Yes, UTS offers short bridging courses in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for students who need to refresh or build core knowledge before starting university. These are normally held in January and July. Explore UTS bridging courses.

• Can I transfer from another university or TAFE into a UTS Science course, and will I receive credits for my previous studies?

  Yes, you can apply to UTS from another institution and once admitted, apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL) for subjects already completed.
