Yes. UTS offers Co-operative Education (Co-op) scholarships, which combine academic study with professional work experience.
Students in Co-op programs complete two industry placements with partner organisations while studying their degree. The program also includes professional development activities and mentoring.
Co-op scholarships are available in selected degrees, including business, information technology, engineering and science.

There are different application processes depending on whether you applying as a domestic or international student, and what type degree you are applying for.
Here's how it works:
- Choose your study pathway - Decide whether you’re applying as a domestic, international, or online student. UTS has dedicated application pages and instructions for each pathway.
- Apply as a domestic student - Domestic applicants (including undergraduates and postgraduates) can find step-by-step guidance on eligibility and submitting applications, including through entry schemes or pathways.
- Apply as an international student - International applicants can begin their application online, prepare required documentation (such as academic records and English language evidence), and submit through the UTS online system or via an authorised agent.
- Apply for UTS Online - If you’re applying for a fully online course, UTS Online has a separate application process with guidance on preparing and submitting your documents.

There are different application deadlines depending on your course, desired session and whether you are applying as a domestic or international student. Additionally, some programs have strict deadlines, while others accept applications years-round.

- Autumn Session – typically begins in February
- Spring Session – typically begins in July
Application periods open several months in advance; however, deadlines vary significantly by course, study level, and applicant type (domestic or international). Some courses also have earlier closing dates or fixed cut‑offs, while others accept rolling applications.

To transfer credits to UTS you will need to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or credit recognition. After submitting your application we will evaluate your submission as per the Admissions and Recognition of Piror Learnign Policy and Procedures.
To apply for credit, you usually need to provide:
- an official academic transcript,
- subject outlines or unit descriptions,
- and additional documents if requested.

The instructions on how to accept your offer is emailed to you with the offer letter. This email is important because it will include the acceptance deadline and any additional specific steps based on your circumstance.
The process involves:
1. Logging in to the UTS Applicant Portal
2. Reviewing your offer conditions (if any)
3. Accept the offer online and submit any required documents

Whether you can defer depends on several factors. Some courses do not allow you to defer, and you cannot defer if you commence your course in the Spring or Summer session.

If you’re an international student on a student visa, you must maintain a full-time study load. If you want to study part time, apply for permission to reduce your study load.

- If you’re studying at a different university, cross-institutional study allows you to enrol in UTS subjects and receive credit for them towards your course. More information is available at cross-institutional study.
- If you’re looking for a broader experience, you can also study at UTS through a Study Abroad or Exchange program, where you can spend one or two semesters in Sydney, choose from a wide range of subjects, and gain credit towards your degree.

UTS offers several accommodation options close to the Sydney city campus.
- Students can apply for UTS-managed student residences, which provide furnished rooms, shared facilities and access to study and social spaces.
- Students may also choose to live in purpose-built student accommodation near campus or arrange private rental housing in nearby suburbs such as Ultimo, Chippendale, Haymarket and Redfern.
- Accommodation costs vary depending on the type of room and location.
Students are encouraged to apply early, as university accommodation places are limited.
