International Onshore Contact (IOC)
As part of your student visa requirements and in compliance with the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000, you must notify UTS of your Australian contact details (Address and phone number) within 7 days of arriving in Australia and within 7 days of any changes to your contact details.
What happens if you do not update your details?
- An International Onshore Contact (IOC) Sanction will be applied to your account.
- You will not be able to access your exam results and official academic records until you provide valid Australian contact details.
How to update your contact details
Update your Australian address and phone number in My Student Admin.
Address
Provide and/or update the Australian address information in the ‘Session’ address type using the following format:
- Address Line 1: Unit/Apartment Number/Street Number and Name of the Street (e.g., 15 Broadway)
- Suburb: Suburb or Locality (e.g., Ultimo)
- State: State or Territory (e.g., NSW)
- Postcode: (e.g., 2007)
- Country: Australia
Phone number
Provide and/or update your phone number under an appropriate phone type.
If you are providing an Australian mobile number, please use one of the following formats:
- 04XX XXX XXX (e.g., 0412 345 678) or
- +61 4XX XXX XXX (e.g., +61 412 345 678) or
- 61 4XX XXX XXX (e.g., 61 412 345 678)
Important
- Your current Australian address must be recorded under the 'Session' address type.
- Your Australian phone number is recorded under an appropriate phone type.
- Your 'Home' address should be your residential address in your home country. Do not enter your Australian address in this field.
What happens after you update your details?
If your Australian contact details are correctly recorded under the ‘Session’ address type and a valid phone number is provided, the International Onshore Contact (IOC) Sanction will not be applied to your account.
