If you had an invigilated exam last session and already provided your consent and created a ProctorU account, you do not need to consent again or create a new account
Some online exams need to be supervised to uphold academic integrity. We’re using a service called ProctorU to supervise online exams. ProctorU are one of the leaders in invigilated exams and used by universities worldwide and locally. Before selecting ProctorU, we also ran our own data and security checks to ensure student privacy and data will be protected.

What do I need to do?

You can then create a ProctorU account by clicking on the ProctorU menu button in any of your subjects that has an AI-invigilated exam.
Why do I need to consent to the supply of personal information?
We want you to feel confident about how your information is used.
Providing consent gives you a chance to understand the process before signing up.
To sit an AI-invigilated exam, you'll need to share:
- Your name and UTS email address
- Your UTS Student ID card or a government-issued photo ID
- A photo of yourself taken during the exam for identity verification
ProctorU only collects what’s needed to run your exam. They’ll never use your information for anything else or share it with third parties.
How do I consent?
To give consent:
- Log in to MyStudentAdmin
- Click 'Consents' in the top menu
- Select 'View' next to Online Exams Consent
- Read the statement and click 'Accept' or 'Decline'
You can change your answer at any time by going back to the same page. You only need to do this once. If you’ve already consented last session, you don’t need to do it again.
What happens when I agree?
We record your response in MyStudentAdmin.
What happens if I decline?
If you choose not to consent, you must do so before the deadline. If you miss the deadline, you may not be able to sit your exam at the scheduled time.
Once you decline:
- You’ll sit your exam on campus at the scheduled date and time
- It will be supervised by UTS staff
- You'll need to start your exam at the scheduled time of the exam and complete it within the allocated writing time (there is no availability window)
- You don’t need to contact anyone to arrange this — we’ll automatically schedule your exam on campus and contact you via email
You can only create an account with ProctorU once you have selected 'Accept' on the consent form. You only need to complete these steps if you are sitting an AI invigilated exam.
