Ready to take the next step in your study journey but concerned about the cost?

Your postgraduate degree could be more affordable than you realise with a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP).

CSPs (reduced fee subsidised by the government) are available in a wide range of UTS courses. No separate application is required.

Applications are currently open for 2025.

Eligibility

To be considered for a CSP to one of our available degrees you must either:

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen;
  • hold an Australian permanent residency visa; or
  • hold an Australian permanent humanitarian visa

CSPs for postgraduate courses are competitive as there are limited places available. The number of places and applicable courses vary each year, based on government funding, and are allocated based on merit. Certain courses may also have minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) requirements. Please see the respective course pages for details.

Applying for a CSP

Applications are assessed on an ongoing basis, and we recommend that you apply early to be considered. You must:

  • Apply for your desired course via the UTS Student Portal (postgraduate applications tile); and
  • Complete the CSP question in the application form. No separate application is required.

If you're eligible for a CSP offer, you’ll be notified of the outcome via email. As places are competitive, it’s important that you accept your offer by the lapse date indicated in your offer correspondence to retain your place.
