The Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme (ITAS) is a vital part of our Learning Development Program. ITAS offers Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students the opportunity to apply for supplementary tuition either one-to-one or in small groups for up to two hours per week.
ITAS is funded under a contract between UTS and the Commonwealth Government administrated by the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Apply to be an ITAS Tutor
The primary role of the ITAS tutor is to assist Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to participate equitably in their chosen field of study. This is achieved through ITAS tutoring sessions where the tutor develops an understanding of the individual or group’s learning needs in relation to the subject the student is studying and then plans a program of subject specific tuition in liaison with the student. The tutor will then deliver the program of tuition within the contractual agreement to facilitate students’ learning of the subject specific content. Find out more and apply to be an ITAS Tutor.
