Jumbunna Tutoring for Accademic Success 'JTAS' is one of our key offerings available for students registered with our space.

What is JTAS?

JTAS offers Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students access to regular tutoring sessions in a supportive learning environment at Jumbunna. This valuable program matches students to dedicated tutors that are committed to supporting students to plan, set and achieve academic goals and overall enhance their University experience.

Apply for JTAS

To be eligible for JTAS, you must be:

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (able to provide a Confirmation of Aboriginality/UTS Statutory Declaration)
  • Enrolled in and Undergraduate or Postgraduate course at UTS
  • Assessed as requiring additional assitance to achieve your academic goals

Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students are invited to apply online. Applications are now open for Autumn 2025.

Tutoring on the JTAS Program

The primary role of a JTAS Tutor is to work alongside Jumbunna students to provide tailored academic support and guidance and study assistance on coursework each session. Jumbunna recruit a casual pool of tutors each session and have registration open each academic session.
