Aotearoa (New Zealand), Cultural Immersion

For years, Jumbunna students have had the opportunity to travel to Aotearoa (New Zealand) and learn a small part of Māoritanga (Māori Culture). The week-long trip of the North Island includes a visit to Te Papa (the National Museum), a Pōwhiri (traditional welcome to the Marae), a tour of the Rotorua seismic area, a Hāngī (traditional oven pit cooked meal) and a visit to Waitangi (the Treaty Grounds).

It’s an opportunity for our students to not only learn and connect with other First Nations people abroad but with each other.
